The debate over President Trump’s immigration policy has focused primarily on a surge in at-large deportations, which have mostly affected people with little or no criminal history. The sweeping campaign has tripped up construction workers, housekeepers, and even toddlers. Indeed, a new analysis shows that of those arrested by ICE in 2025, 14% had a conviction or pending charge for a crime of violence.
