Ronan Farrow wrote in her new book, “Catch and Kill”, that National Enquirer editor Dylan Howard had shredded “a Trump-related document from the safe, along with others in the Enquirer’s possession, had been shredded,” after saying he needed to empty the safe and expressed a need for a shredder.
Farrow writes that “a Trump-related document from the safe, along with others in the Enquirer’s possession, had been shredded.” Farrow did not provide an explain how he knew the documents were shredded, but said, “Howard began swearing to colleagues that nothing had ever been destroyed, an assertion he maintains to this day”.
Howard and his employer, chairman of American Media David Pecker, had worked closely with Donald Trump, Sr. and his associates to suppress many embarrassing stories about Trump, and to promote stories only favorable stories for Trump, according to Trump’s long-term personal attorney, Michael Cohen.
In a response to Farrow’s reporting, American Media Inc. said the report is “completely untrue”, claiming, “Mr. Farrow’s narrative is driven by unsubstantiated allegations from questionable sources and while these stories may be dramatic, they are completely untrue.”
